DeenunaDaily Jumu'ah

خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ

Jumu'ah — The Weekly Eid

"The best day the sun rises upon is Friday." — Muslim. Seven days a week, one of them is gold.

Jumu'ah

Calculating…

Every week, Allah resets the table — and Friday is where the family feasts on mercy.

Don't miss one

The Friday Checklist

The night before

  • Read Surah al-Kahf — its light shines between the two Fridays
  • Prepare clean clothes for salah
  • Set the alarm to go early

Before you go

  • Ghusl — the Friday bath
  • Clip nails, trim, perfume (men)
  • Wear your best clothes — it is a weekly Eid
  • Walk if you can — every step counts double

At the masjid

  • Go early — the first hour is like sacrificing a camel, the last like an egg
  • Pray tahiyyat al-masjid, then dhikr or Qur'an
  • Silence during the khutbah — even saying "hush" cancels the reward

All day long

  • Send salawat on the Prophet ﷺ — abundantly, all day
  • Hunt the hour of response — the strongest opinion: the last hour before Maghrib
  • Make du'a for the whole family — write their names down

The salawat

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

"Whoever sends salah upon me once, Allah sends salah upon him tenfold." — Muslim. Ten mercies for two words.

With the family

  • Tell the kids why Friday is special — a story, not a rule
  • Walk to the masjid together
  • Treat after salah — make Jumu'ah taste like joy
  • Check the Family Board after Maghrib

Light between two Fridays

Surah al-Kahf is 110 ayahs — start it Thursday night, finish it before Maghrib Friday.
