بِسْمِ اللَّهِ
One Islamic story a night — and every weekday owns its own kind: Friday is Prophet-story night, Saturday is laugh night, and the rest of the week has its theme too. Each story ends with a lesson and a du'a. Snuggle up, Bismillah, and begin.
Ages 6-11 · about 4–5 minutes together
10 kids read thisNuayman was a companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him) famous for one thing: he could not stop making people laugh. Even the Prophet (peace be upon him) smiled at his tricks.
Once a man brought a gift of food to the Prophet (peace be upon him). Nuayman, who happened to be sitting there, started eating from it before the gift was even offered — and everyone laughed.
Another time, Nuayman played a trick that made the whole of Madinah chuckle for days, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) wiped his face while laughing.
But here is the part that matters: Nuayman was also one of the warriors of Badr. The joker of Madinah had stood firm on the day the angels came.
So nobody ever looked down on his humour — because his laughter never left his iman, and his iman never left his jokes.
Islam is not a religion of long faces. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: your smile for your brother is sadaqah — and Nuayman gave that sadaqah by the bucket.
Lesson of the night: Funny is not the opposite of faithful. Laugh much, lie never.
O Allah, put barakah in our laughter and keep our jokes within Your pleasure.
